About the therapist

Aamani Mynampati

Aamani Mynampati, MS, CCC-SLP

Hi!

My name is Aamani, and I am an ASHA-certified speech-language pathologist working in the Bay Area, California. I currently see private clients in and around Mountain View, CA, Cupertino, CA, and San Jose, CA. My main area of practice is  speech therapy  for kids -  toddlers, preschoolers, and elementary school children.

Philosophy

My practice is family centric. It involves parents and caregivers, during the entire session, and focuses on explaining what is happening, and how it can be replicated, in daily routines , even just a few minutes a day, to increase therapeutic outcomes. Parents and caregivers are involved every step of the way. And I strive my best to make therapy as pleasant and as fun as it can be for the child, and the child's family.

Experience

I have been in the field of speech-language pathology for several years. Before starting my own practice,  I worked at both pediatric speech and language clinics and  elementary schools. I've assessed and treated a variety of speech and language conditions: language delays and disorders, articulation / phonological disorders, issues with reading / writing foundations including phonological awareness, social language deficits,  disfluencies, voice disorders, and more.  I've worked collaboratively with other speech-language professionals, as well as with other therapists, educators, and of course, parents and caregivers. Some volunteer work I've done in the field of speech- language pathology includes a Loma Linda University service trip to collaborate with pediatricians and healthcare professionals in  Hangzhou, China, and mentoring educational professionals at Little Hearts School in Mumbai India.

In addition to my practice of speech-language pathology, I love creating materials and resources for parents and educators, including blog posts,  courses, eBooks, worksheets, and apps (coming soon!)

Education

I earned my Master of Science degree in speech-language pathology from Loma Linda University in Southern California, where I did my thesis on child language development, received scholarships for academic and extracurricular excellence both from ASHA (American Speech Language and Hearing Association) and CSHA (California Speech Language and Hearing Association), and was on my school's board for NSSLHA (National Student Speech Language Hearing Association).  I obtained my Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Pennsylvania, double-majoring in English and Economics.

What Past Clients Say

Aamani is so patient, and T has come so far. The games she taught have helped us focus on his needs. We were concerned about his limited vocabulary- but not anymore. He is all caught up and excelling.

Aamani's patience has been boundless, and her creativity has been  vast. She has helped L unlock so much potential. We are so happy to see him make friends and volunteer in class - when he used to be silent and fearful.

We appreciate the thoughtful way in which Aamani approaches and thinks about areas that challenge M. She develops great  exercises for him to use at home. He has come so far, it's hard for us to remember what he was like when he first started therapy!
